Communicative language learning is a type of method to learning foreign language base on group or community. The aim of this method is to acquire the effectiveness of target language. Communicative language learning was recognized by Charles Lunan at 1955. To create successful communicative language learning in the classroom, teacher and student must to know and understand what their roles are. The roles of teacher are to monitor and evaluator about student activities in the classroom. However, the role of student is as participate of classroom activities.
The strengths that might presented in communicative language learning are teacher easier in teaching, it because the number of student in a group is having a little of member. Hence, teacher is easier in presents the materials for them. Furthermore, teacher is changed an dependent student to independent student. Usually some student can’t be communicate and do interact with other student. With apply this method, student with dependent can join together in a community. However, the implementation of this method is probably makes some weakness, such as teacher must to manage many learning group and also there is misunderstanding and miscommunication between students with other student.
